I just finished reading your book Then Again and I must say it made me laugh, cry and mostly cry because not only were we born in the same hospital but so many times as you were reading the book, audible verison, it wourl bring to ligth my own relationship with mother, that in many ways I looked at in the same way. My mother Connie died in 2004 and I miss you everyday. We also lived in the quanset huts across from Griffith Park in the 40's also. When you were talking about "Queen for a Day", I too watched that show daily and dreamed of being Queen for a Day myself. I too wanted to be in show biz, My mother was Lou Wasserman's receptionist and she was in show biz. She was a dancer. She was asked to come to Hollywood from Dallas Texas, but ran off and got married instead. Maybe she could of been another Ginger Rogers. It's life great Diane. I also have some great stories of growing up in Los Angeles in the 40's I am going to be 70 next April. I just wanted to say how very much I loved your book and I have admired you ever since I saw "Annie Hall". My godfather was Frank Donahue, he created the TV series Sea Hunt and was a navy seal in WWII and had a diving school in Santa Monica and knew your father, but I did not know it was your father. His wife Mary was Daralin Zanick's best friend and that is a whole another story that I could tell. While reading this I realize I have many stories. Gail Storm I just heard to mention was a friend of my mothers also. The book just goes on and on with memories for me. Thank you Diane for being you and sharing your life.
